Welcome to the official website of Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam Rana, Assistant Professor of Retailing at the College of Hospitality, Retail, and Sport Management, University of South Carolina.

With an extensive academic background in Textile and Apparel Management, complemented by professional experience in the textile industry in Bangladesh, I bring a global and well-rounded perspective to my research and teaching. My research emphasis is on emerging retail strategies, supply chain management, omnichannel consumer behavior, sustainability, and corporate social responsibility within the fashion industry.

In 2022, I received my Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia, where I also completed my Master's degree in Textile and Apparel Management. Prior to my graduate studies, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Textile Technology from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh. This diverse educational foundation prepared me for my current role, and it continually fuels my curiosity and passion for the industry. Before diving into academia in the United States, I honed my skills within the textile and apparel industries in Bangladesh. My experience in production, merchandising, and sourcing have given me invaluable insights and a unique perspective that I bring to my research and teaching.
